Tamás & Xénia Mezei
Xénia:
I am leading guest services at WOL Hungary. My ministry is to coordinate housekeeping, the housing of guest groups and guest teachers. It is an amazing ministry to welcome everyone who comes to our property and to make sure they spend a blessed time serving together with us. It is also a blessing to lead a team of co-servants who help us keep the castle and all the buildings clean and fresh for all our campers, students, and guests. Whenever time allows, I take the opportunity to join the LCM team and serve together with my husband and his team. We do much of the organization of the Satellite Camps and School events together, as well as writing programs and schedules for American student groups who come to WOL Hungary for their senior trip. |
Tamás:
My job as Leader of Outreach and Local Church Ministries (LCM) is to find opportunities to take the Gospel to the youth of Hungary and the world through events such as school evangelism, "WOL Satellite Camps" held at Hungarian and Central European local churches, and local church ministries. Our vision for 2020 has three major parts: our first goal is to have 5 Satellite Camp weeks at 5 different local churches. The second part is to continue leading WOL Bible clubs as a follow-up and discipleship program. The third part of our vision is to launch a country wide discipleship program and youth leader training program.
There is currently a unique opportunity in Hungary for openly preaching the Gospel at Public Schools. During this time of Religious freedom every public school can hold Christian events and build Bible education into their curriculum. Throughout the school year we are often invited to hold evangelistic days for the entire student body. Through this program just in the first half of this past school year, more than 3000 students had a chance to respond to the Gospel message. Word of Life Hungary is also operating a Bible Institute training around 80 students each year. Since March of 2019 LCM is also coordinating the all year-around student ministries for the Bible Institute. Christian ministry is built into their curriculum which means that every student is involved in a weekly ministry that connects back to a local church. Beyond teaching our students to serve effectively, our goal is also to teach them to serve in a team, under the authority of the local church.
About us:
Both Xénia and Tamás come from non-Christian backgrounds. They met the Lord in their early teenage years and by faith through grace, were born again for a new life in Him. After meeting each other at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Hungary, they got married in their early 20's. As a young couple, they both began theology studies at the Baptist Theological Academy in Budapest. During Seminary years Tamás served as the assistant pastor of a local church. In 2015 Xénia started her ministry at Word of Life Hungary as the Assistant to the Director, while Tamás continued working on his masters, finishing in 2016. In 2017 Tamás joined Word of Life Hungary as well, becoming the Leader of Outreach and Local Church Ministries (LCM). Their call is to share the Gospel with the youth of Hungary and the world, that they might follow Christ and share Him with others.
"one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14
