Chris & Lili James
MinistryI have a passion for teaching and I want to see our students grow in their faith and make a difference for Christ. Our prayer is that God would use me in the lives of all these men to help them develop a strong biblical foundation so when they go back to their countries, they would be godly examples and make more disciples, fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission, which serves as our directive until He returns.
I am the Administrative Director of Word of Life Hungary, and my responsibilities include overseeing the financial, legal, and staff development/HR aspects at the organization. We are thankful for the wonderful administrative team I get to work with to serve and support the staff. Pray that we will be effective in fulfilling our mission that the youth of Hungary and the World might hear the Gospel, follow Christ, and share Him with others! |
Chris' Testimony
My parents moved to Hungary when I was 4 years old. I was saved shortly after that. My dad, Dave James alongside another American, Al Konya founded the Bible Institute in Hungary. I went to the BI for two years straight out of High School, after which I volunteered for 2 years at WOL Hungary, serving as the main translator for the school, as well as working in the Multimedia department. After the first year of my internship, I married my lovely wife, Lili, and we both stayed for another year as interns.
Both Lili and I had a strong desire to become full-time missionaries so we decided to finish our studies in the States and then go to a mission field. As we were finishing up our studies, we started to consider where the Lord would like us to be. The more we talked about it, the more we felt that Word of Life Hungary is where we could be used by God the most. My wife is Hungarian, so we both speak the language fluently, know the culture well, and we both served at Word of Life Hungary for many years in many capacities. We want to bring glory to Him as we serve Him there.

Lili's Testimony
I was saved at a WOL Hungary camp in 2003. While I went to the camp only because a close friend of mine invited me, God had other plans. :) It was during that week that I understood that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I understood that Christ, the perfect Son of God, died for my sins and rose from the dead, offering me the gift of eternal life with Him, if I believe in Him and accept Him as my personal Savior. I did just that and never looked back. (It was also during this week that I met Chris for the first time.)
The following year I went back as a volunteer and was serving with WOL Hungary for at least a few weeks each summer from then on.
Once I graduated from High School, I went to the Bible Institute and stayed for both years. After my graduation, I stayed as an intern, serving in the Camp Department. After my first year of internship Chris and I got engaged, and a year later, in 2010, we got married. We had our oldest daughter, Amy, in 2011 and left for the States when she was 7 months old.
I finished my BA degree at Baptist Bible College (now Clarks Summit University), majoring in the Bible, in 2013. We had our second child, Haley, in 2014.
We moved back to Hungary in 2017 to serve at Word of Life Hungary. Our third child, Joshua was born that year. Jonathan, our fourth child was born in 2019.
Our hope and desire is to bring glory to God in all we do.
