Word of Life Hungary is pleased to announce the choice of László Kádár as its next director. “Laci” is of course Hungarian, and is 53 years old. He and his wife Szandra have been married for 25 years, and they are the parents of three children: Fanni, Luca and Laci.
Laci received his BA degree in Elementary Education in Hungary. He is also a graduate of the Word of Life Hungary Bible Institute, and earned a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary, where he is currently working towards a D.Min degree. Szandra is also a Word of Life Hungary Bible Institute graduate, and has a degree in Slavic Studies at the Eötvös Lóránd University in Budapest.
Laci has served faithfully with Word of Life Hungary for 27 years, working with and directing the camping program, serving as director of development and a main Bible teacher in the Bible Institute, and as our staff evangelist. He has also played a key role in local church ministries, encouraging many Hungarian local churches. Szandra has served as a translator, mentor and director of the summer camp English language instruction program.
Laci and Szandra bring to Word of Life Hungary spiritual maturity, gifted leadership, a deep knowledge of the Word of Life ministry and the Hungarian culture, and a passion for reaching and discipling youth. Laci is a gifted evangelist and Bible teacher, which will be a great encouragement and blessing to our team. The Word of Life Hungary leadership and Board of Directors are fully convinced that the call of God is upon Laci and Szandra to continue this work that began some 33 years ago.
The current Word of Life Hungary interim director Alex Konya will officially turn the leadership over to Laci on December 27, 2022. Alex will continue to serve for a time as Regional Director for Word of Life’s ministries in Europe, and he and his wife Pam will be retiring from Word of Life later in 2023. They will be moving from Tóalmás in December 2022 to an apartment that they have purchased in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.
Please pray for this transition as Laci prepares to lead this ministry that has been so effective over the years in reaching and discipling thousands of young people for Christ. Pray that God will give to him and Szandra wisdom, strength and grace to effectively lead this ministry that God has so evidently prepared them for. Laci would love to hear from you. If you would like to encourage him or contact him, his email address is: [email protected] . God bless you, Laci and Szandra!
