I grew up in a Christian family in Pennsylvania. When I was eight years old we moved to Indiana because of a new job opportunity. When in Indiana, I joined a great church, where I began to take part in a Bible quizzing team. I did not join because of the Bible, but being American I love competition and I hate to lose. One year, however, we were studying the gospel of Matthew. One night, I was alone in my room around 9 p.m. when I read Mathew 24. I came across the passage that where it is written that, no one knows the day or the hour when Christ will return. I was dark outside and I was scared. I thought to myself the following: what would happen if Jesus would come back and I would not be ready for Him? My legs and arms started to shake, and crying I went to my father. He explained everything to me. He explained that Jesus died for me and my sins, and on the third day rose again. That night in my parents’ room I understood the magnitude of what Jesus did for me, and not just for me, but for |
everyone, and I trusted Christ as my personal Savior. Close to 4 years ago now, I came to Hungary as a Bible School student. I was not planning on staying long term, but God’s plan was different. Now, here I am at Word of Life Hungary and I serve in the dining room and I am a camp team member. I love to serve and do ministry focused on youth. There exist opportunities to do this every summer in our camps, as well as every week when we hold a youth group in Budapest. It is great to see when the Hungarian youth realize their need for Christ, and along with this realization, they make a decision for Christ.
